To enrich ethnic minority youth's understanding on UN Sustainable Development Goal13: Climate Action, and motivate them to bring changes to the community and arouse awareness on climate change, UNICEF HK has launched a new programme SDG Actioner Challenge. Through workshops, field tours, visits and etc., ethnic minority youth are encourage to promote and implement sustainable lifestyle through climate action projects in schools and local communities.
Programme Objectives
- Cultivate global citizenship of youngsters and promote Sustainable Development Goals
- Encourage local ethnic minority youth to exercise positive influence, bring social changes and promote inclusive community
- Promote 21st century skill development among local ethnic minority youth, in particular transferrable skills
Programme Focus
Theme of this year’s programme is “Renewable Energy in Hong Kong”, the proposal submitted by each team should respond to the following question(s):
How to PROMOTE ADOPTATION OF RENEWABLE ENERGY in schools and local communities? (e.g. : solar, wind, conversion of waste to energy or hydropower, etc.)
OR/AND
How to ENGAGE the community in renewable energy initiatives and INSPIRE BAHAVIOUR CHANGE?
