Description

Under the theme "Learning to Leading Our 4500 Days," Hong Kong Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF HK) hosted inaugural Youth for Youth Summit in Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks on 20 September. "4500 Days" represents the critical window from birth to age 12, which is a period where a child's development lays the foundation for them to transition from learner to leader. For the first time, this pioneering event brought together all of UNICEF HK's ‘Local Education and Youth Initiatives’, offering nearly 500 students, parents, and school representatives a dedicated platform to exchange ideas and share experiences.

Participants from UNICEF HK’s signature youth programmes, including Young Envoys Programme, UNICEF Club, SDG Actioner Challenge for Ethnic Minority Youth, EdVocate School Speakers Programme, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) eLearn Award Scheme showcased their impactful projects and initiatives launched within their schools and communities. They reflected on their personal growth and insights gained through the programmes, demonstrating how they translated learning into critical thinking and meaningful action that advances child rights and furthers the Sustainable Development Goals. These experiences have shaped them into confident, globally aware advocates who are driving positive change in their communities.
